It was a lot of fun to relive the experience of photographing candidates and sharing some more information about the in's & out's of a lot of that photographic adventure :) Rangefinder Radio is also available on itunes - take a listen if you're interested!.

The May Cover...
The May issue of Endurance Magazine is such a super cool one! It was quite an adventure putting all the photography together, and getting time with some impressive Senators - if you've been following this blog, you've heard a lot about it, lol :) The photography shoots continued after Endurance went to press, now for my Rangefinder Magazine article, which will be out in June. So more to come! This Endurance piece, written by Editor Joe Nuss, is timely and smart - As a li

Photographing Michelle Obama
Michelle Obama spoke to the largest crowd that's turned out yet to meet her when she visited Raleigh. Nearly 6,000 people filled the Reynolds Coliseum at NC State to hear Senator Obama's wife talk about her thoughts on him as a person and as the possible next President of the United States. It was a highly-charged crowd that gathered, and she did not disappoint with her message of hope, realism, and who people are "when nobody's looking". I'd like to say thanks to John &am

The Knot's Best of Weddings, 2008
A big thank you to The Knot for including my photography in their big wedding special issue, Best Of Weddings, 2008! The featured editorial was from Abigail & Ray's beautiful wedding at The Fearrington in Pittsboro, NC, which was just a joy to shoot. I have to go back and do some counting, but I want to say that we've had real weddings featured in something like the last 6 issues of the magazine in a row, too. We definitely do appreciate it!

Working for the Obama Campaign
I found out yesterday that there is a big difference covering a political rally and the associated events as press versus actually working for a campaign directly as a photographer. They are both very cool (at least to me!), just different. I had the great pleasure of traveling through North Carolina and spending the day with the Obama campaign yesterday. We started in Raleigh for a closed door fundraiser and a town hall meeting and then raced out to Greenville, where we

The new cover of Adoptive Families Magazine
The new issue of Adoptive Families Magazine is out, and this beautiful cover model is Mimi, from Ethiopia. I love photographing covers for Adoptive Families Magazine for a few reasons: First of all, I'm a huge advocate for adoption, no surprise there. Secondly, I get the opportunity to suggest my portrait clients for magazine covers! Little Mimi here is not just gorgeous, but she also has an incredibly interesting life story ... and she's only a toddler. She was born in
