A Pretty Good Month for Tamara Lackey
I got a call from Dan Barkin, Deputy Managing Editor for the Raleigh News & Observer, after he saw a press release about my work making its way into a variety of publications. Dan is keeping a highly-viewed blog, monitoring his experiences as a Father of The Bride. He wanted to learn a bit more about wedding photography, and we spoke for about an hour or so. It has been interesting to read through his blog and to see what all this wedding planning is really like from

A Giving Party
Tamara partnered up with three phenomenal women to host A Giving Party, and altogether they raised $12,000 for some fantastic organizations, winning a Village Pride Award and being profiled in the The Chapel Hill News and the Philanthropy Journal.

an Interview by crash taylor
A huge thanks to Crash Taylor for a very fun interview. Crash is an exceptionally talented England-based photographer who has interviewed some exceptionally intriguing people ... and then, recently, lowered his standards a bit (sweet soul) and interviewed me... You can check out the rest of the interview here. A special thanks to Australian-based Sue Bryce for the new headshot - she also photographed a few other lovely images while we were in Las Vegas, which I'll post next

professional photographer magazine
Thanks to Professional Photographer Magazine for running such a cool article about my shooting style in the new December issue. Cute title: Bring on The Scamp. So much fun to see and read through it - and, as always, a lovely layout. The topic dovetails nicely with the presentation I'll be giving at Imaging USA in Nashville Monday, January 11th, 2010. (And a big thanks for the interview, friend and fellow photographer, Audrey Woulard. It was a good match, as Audrey and ar

Rangefinder’s October Issue & Platform at WPPI!
I just received the October issue of Rangefinder Magazine, and I love the layout of my follow-up article about the general election! This is not a re-post, by the way - the last time I put up an article, a few posts ago, it was September. This time it's October. See: totally different months. I do think it's so interesting how life can just open to what we are seeking. I remember being struck by how cool it was to be showcased in last November's issue. Less than one y

Rangefinder Magazine, September 2008
I am so excited about the new article I wrote for Rangefinder Magazine, "World Changers", actually developed from a section I created on this site (under "the display case" header) about some amazingly exceptional people I have had the honor of photographing. I have received some feedback in the past after posting a smaller version of the article about my photography in last November's issue that it was too small to read. And apparently just posting a link to the pdf was si

Interview for DWF University
I was honored recently to be asked to contribute to the brand new university section of one of the most active, cutting-edge photography forums on the web for photographers, the digital wedding forum - although that's a bit of a misnomer, as there's enough education and information on there for a photographer of any discipline! Thanks to Tim Uhl, DWF's Marketing Director, for making it such an easy interview :) Here's just the lead-in to the video - I was reminded that the

Martha Stewart, Cookies & Cuteness
I was flipping through Martha Stewart Living and saw another one of my photographs in the magazine, this time for a Nestle Toll House Cookie ad. My kids soooo approve. And, huge bonus, it's one of my sweet friend (and client!) Alisa & her bubbly, beautiful daughter Parker. I immediately emailed her, thinking it would be this huge surprise, and she tells me she's already heard from everyone and the calls just keep coming in. (I guess it's a pretty big circulation, and
