New Cover for April Issue...
Endurance Magazine's new issue is out for April. Once again, the magazine is showcasing an exceptional person in our world. April's cover model is Mary Chervenak, who ran across the entire world in association with Blue Planet Run, to spread the following message: we can and must begin today to alleviate the catastrophic burden placed on over a billion people who, every day, must drink unsafe local water, or travel long distances on foot to search for safe water for the

Senator Hillary Clinton
After my post about Senator Obama, I got an interesting phone call from my friend, client, and fellow photographer Katie Williams. It turns out that her mother, Hallie, has been following the blog since I photographed her grandchildren. She had the thought that she would love to see similar images of Senator Clinton. As a passionate supporter and friend of Hillary Clinton, she wanted to see how she could help me get the type of access I would need to achieve more personal i

A Portrait Session with Hillary Clinton
I will definitely post more portraits and imagery of Senator Hillary Clinton from her visit to North Carolina today - got some amazing access and beautiful images!! I also had a fantastic opportunity to get some one on one time with the Senator, and I wanted to at least quickly show one of the portraits from our session. In my next post, I will share a lot more details about how these portraits came about - it's such a cool story...

Photographs of President Bill Clinton
Per my promise to add photographs from President Clinton's visit to North Carolina last week. Kind of amazing to stand there and watch this man who has come to represent so many things to so many people after decades of the highest-profile public service there is... regardless of where you stand politically, it's difficult to argue with the fact that this is one of the most well-known faces on the planet. (By the way, my 6 year-old daughter looked at these photographs, and

Okay, one more favorite of Senator Obama...
I so appreciate the very cool feedback and emails I received after posting some photographs of Barack Obama (and Annie!!). One of the things I was asked most often was if I could post some more images. I will definitely do so later, after the magazine goes to press, but I do have clearance to post this one more, definitely one of my favorites... I am gearing up to photograph Senator Hillary Clinton next, this Thursday. Will circle back after that - we're working on a diff

Photographs from The Barack Obama Experience :)
So I promised images from the day with Barack Obama. Here are some shots Steve grabbed of me, seriously excited (fired up & ready to go!!!) to photograph everything... And the subject himself...this was photographed from about 50 feet back, in a crowd of thousands. Then we moved up to the buffer...now about 5 feet away... And here's what I was getting, and much, much more - but we are keeping some images under wraps for exclusivity in the magazine... After a good lo

I just spent the day photographing Barack Obama.
I just spent a mind-blowing day photographing Barack Obama. I will be posting some seriously amazing images very soon, but what an unforgettable day. My husband Steve (a great photographer in his own right) and I drove down to Charlotte and received exclusive media opportunity to not only photograph him during his town hall meeting. We started in the press setup area. But since we are photographing a cover profile of him for the magazine, and up to 30 sister publications

Carolina Parent Magazine Cover Contest
I am so looking forward to photographing the winner of the 2008 Carolina Parent Magazine Cover Contest again. I have had the pleasure of shooting several of Carolina Parent's covers, and I have no doubt that this will be another fun and high-energy session with the always-worthy finalists of the contest. As we have done for the last couple of years, I will photograph the selected finalists and a decision on the Cover Winner will be chosen after the photographs are reviewed

my work in O Magazine, Vogue & Elle!
A bridal portrait I photographed of the gorgeous Carrie Williamson was picked up for exclusive usage (with the blessings of Carrie, of course!) by a cosmetics company, and it's been great fun to see them use this image as the sole core-message photograph in their national campaign. I'd seen it last month in Ladies Home Journal and Martha Stewart (I am really enjoying Martha Stewart nowadays :) And then I saw that it appeared in Vogue Magazine and Elle Magazine this month,
