My daughter & I head out to Shriner's Hospital for Children in St. Louis every year. I'm always so impressed with the medical work they do there and how much of the organization's focus is to simply do good for others. It's a boring plane ride, so we had a bit of fun with music and a point & shoot... Every time we go, we get to meet some amazing people. Many are overcoming obstacles more difficult than many of us ever have to consider in our day-to-day lives. Sop

After months and months of negotiating for approval to run through Chapel Hill and Carrboro, Endurance Magazine finally got permission to host the inaugural Tarheel 10-Miler, a 10-mile running event, benefiting the YMCA Strong Kids Foundation. Securing this race was quite a coup (Congrats, Steve, Thys and the rest of the staff!!), and the 10-mile race will join the Franklin 5000, which will be the second year that Endurance Magazine has hosted a 5K race down Franklin Street,

I've had blonde hair my whole life, so when I walked into the hair salon a couple weeks ago and they asked what I wanted, I thought I'd try a different look. One of the coolest things about reading to your kids is finding awesome trivia books, so that you can all geek out together. You get to present cool, goofy information to your children with all the fun pictures while also learning cool, goofy facts. I can tell you with certain detail how skin breathes, for instance. Or how electric eels use their electricity (and that it is stored above their eyes!!) I also know how to properly hold a baby bunny and all about how smell d

Sometime last night, we surpassed one million page views on this blog. That's a bit astounding to me, as this blog is only 4 3/4 months old. *(I measure time like my children do now. My son is not 3 and he's not 3 1/2, but he's not quite 4, so of course he is 3 3/4 years old).* We weren't even tracking statistics on our old blog, and I barely look at my website traffic, but these stats have been really cool to follow.
